Horror Research

Horror films have been one of the most popular genres of film since film started. The horror genre films are movies that attempt to create fear, horror and terror in the viewer. The plots of these films frequently involve death, the supernatural and mental illness.

In the early 19^th century the first horror films were made. The majority of these films were based on the supernatural but most of the time based on old novels eg. ‘Frankenstein’, ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘Dracular’. These were very popular as people already new the stories and they were easy to recreate the characters and sets.
